Take a Holiday Stroll through Beautifully Decorated Live Christmas Trail in Historic Downtown Moulton

Decatur, Ala. – Beginning December 4, 2021, locals and visitors are invited to join in on the spirit of the holiday season with the annual, award-winning Christmas on the Square, a magical stroll among a beautiful display of live Christmas trees trimmed in festive decorations and unique photo selfie stations that will create memories for a lifetime. The month-long event will take place on the historic old courthouse square in downtown Moulton, Alabama. Admission is free.

Christmas on the Square is a display of uniquely decorated Christmas trees, sponsored and decorated by individuals, groups and businesses from Lawrence County and the surrounding area. The trail also features various photo backdrops or selfie stations to document the magical Christmas experience. 

The official Christmas on the Square tree lighting ceremony will be held Saturday, Dec. 4th at 6:00 p.m. There will be a special countdown ceremony, live music entertainment, free hot chocolate and free horse-driven carriage rides to officially kick off the start of the 2021 Christmas on the Square season.

Additional activities to add to the festive fun are planned and include a hot chocolate social on Friday, Dec. 10th at 6 p.m. which will include carriage rides, live music, dancing and free hot chocolate.  A kid’s night with a theme of Miracle on Court Street will be held Friday, Dec. 17th at 6 p.m. and will include carriage rides, live characters throughout the trail and a special holiday presentation of Tiny Hiney’s Travelin’ Farm petting zoo. 

During the three main event nights, and varied nights throughout the season, there will also be food trucks to satisfy a variety of appetites. The last night to view the beautifully decorated trees lit up is Jan. 1, 2022. Admission is free.
