Rev Up for the All American Cruisers Cruise-In in Downtown Oneonta

Decatur, Ala. (March 31, 2025) – Downtown Oneonta welcomes the return of its outdoor celebration of classic cars and trucks, music, shopping and dining beginning next month and car enthusiasts, families and community members are invited to join in the celebration. The All American Cruisers Cruise In rolls into town for the first time in 2025, April 5, bringing with it an evening of free entertainment.

Now in its fourth year, the All American Cruisers Cruise In showcases a stunning collection of 50-75 vintage, classic and custom automobiles from all eras, making it a must-attend gathering for car lovers and history buffs alike. Attendees can enjoy an up-close look at beautifully restored vehicles while connecting with fellow enthusiasts who share a passion for automotive excellence. Along with the vintage beauties to admire, merchants will extend their business hours so eventgoers can shop and mingle. A DJ will crank out plenty of good tunes as everyone enjoys an evening of free family fun.

Set for Apr. 5, May 3, June 7, July 5, Aug. 2, Sept. 6 and Oct. 4, the All American Cruisers Cruise In will be set up along 1st Avenue East in downtown Oneonta and hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The June 7 event will be held in conjunction with the annual June Fling, adding even more excitement and entertainment for attendees, The event is free and open to the public and is held rain or shine. Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets and enjoy an evening with family and friends. Downtown shops and eateries will be open and there will be food trucks scattered throughout to satisfy any appetite.

After unexpectantly losing her husband of 29 years, Karen returned to the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association (AMLA) in 2023 as the vice president of marketing and communications where she helps guide the organization’s marketing and communications activities to position the North Alabama region as a must-experience destination for leisure travel. She has over 30 years of marketing experience, most recently working as a behind-the-scenes freelance public relations consultant for AMLA and other tourism organizations and festivals in north Alabama and Tennessee. From 1999 to 2004, AMLA employed her as the organization’s marketing representative, introducing her to a lifelong career in the tourism and travel industry. Following the birth of her second child, she transitioned to part-time freelance employment so that she could focus on family life.

 

She was named the Alabama Restaurant & Hospitality Association Tourism Promoter of the Year in 2025. She serves on the board of directors for the Huntsville/Madison County Hospitality Association, is a member of the Decatur/Morgan County Hospitality Association and the Tennessee Valley Chapter of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and volunteers with the Woody Williams Foundation and Vets Like Us.

 

She holds a B.S. degree in marketing and a MBA from the University of North Alabama and received her TMP – Travel Marketing Professional – certification from the Southeast Tourism Society Marketing College. She and her late husband, Michael, have two children, Keller and Logan.
