Downtown Oneonta’s Summertime Festival of Fun Set for June 10
Decatur, Ala. (April 24, 2023) – The Oneonta Business Association invites locals and visitors to make their way downtown the second Saturday in June, for a one-day celebration of fun, arts and crafts, classic cars, great food and more. Now in its 21st year, June Fling is set for June 10, 2023, with hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.
During the annual June Fling, over 100 booths, a cruise-in for all kinds of vehicles, a kidz fun zone, a chalk walk, live music and entertainment fill the downtown area. Live music gets underway at 9:00 a.m. and entertainment lined up for the day include saxophone instrumentalist Kevin Moore, 2022 Alabama Female Country Vocalist of the Year nominee Martha Chasteen, The Chris Posey Band featuring renowned singer song writer Rock Kilough, CASHBACK, a Johnny Cash tribute band; Suburban Love Junkies and The Edmonds Butler Band.
As music fills the air, kids are treated to a variety of activities including mingling with Star Wars characters from the Alabama Garrison of the 501st Legion, International Star Wars Costuming Organization; inflatables; spending time in a petting zoo and having their faces painted ($5).
There is also a special prelude to June Fling on Friday evening, June 9, at the intersection of 1st Avenue and 3rd Street. From 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., this year’s Jump into the Fling is a country western theme and features live entertainment from The Sweet Tea Trio, along with food trucks and a variety of beer and mixed drinks for purchase. Admission is free.
