Discover the Majesty of Eagles During Eagle Awareness Weekends at Lake Guntersville State Park
Decatur, Ala. (December 4, 2024) – Witness the awe-inspiring beauty of America’s iconic bird this winter at Lake Guntersville State Park! The much-anticipated Eagle Awareness Weekends are set to return in late January and early February 2025, offering visitors an unforgettable opportunity to learn about and observe bald eagles in their natural habitat.
Taking place over select weekends in January and February the program combines educational activities, live demonstrations and guided field trips that highlight the significance of bald eagles and their role in the ecosystem. Lake Guntersville State Park, located along the scenic Tennessee River, provides an ideal setting for eagle enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
Now in its 39th year, Eagle Awareness Weekends at Lake Guntersville State Park was started as an activity for people of all ages to experience the joy of watching eagles and other birds in their natural habitat and as a way of educating the public about the importance of protecting the area’s wildlife.
The 2025 Eagle Awareness Weekends are:

January 31-February 2, 2025
Event highlights include live bird demonstrations, programs provided by notable speakers, guided safaris for viewing eagles in their natural habitat, plenty of photo opportunities for those with camera in hand, lodging for two nights, social and wine tasting on Friday evenings, breakfast buffet Saturday and Sunday and dinner Saturday evening.

Packages start at $287 and include lodging for two nights, two breakfasts, one dinner, a welcome packet, VIP access to presentations, photo opportunities with birds of prey, engagement with featured sponsors and one-on-one access with the naturalists.
