AMLA Welcomes Joshua Dalberto as a New Member Services Representative

Decatur, Ala. (October 17, 2024) - The Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association (AMLA) announces the hiring of Joshua Dalberto as a part-time member services representative. He is  responsible for providing support and service to AMLA’s members located in Madison, Jackson and DeKalb counties. He assumed responsibilities September 26, 2024.

In his role as member services representative, Dalberto reports to Vice President of Operations Angie Pierce. He is responsible for the distribution of brochures and materials to members and tourism-related organizations and agencies located in three of AMLA’s 16 county region: Madison, Jackson and DeKalb counties; recruiting new members; representing AMLA at meetings and functions throughout the region; providing upkeep and maintenance to AMLA brochure racks in his designated counties; and serving as an ambassador for the organization and North Alabama tourism.

“AMLA is dedicated to providing the highest quality service to our members while growing tourism for all of North Alabama,” said President/CEO Tami Reist. “We are excited to welcome Josh to our North Alabama tourism family and with his people-first attitude and many years of experience in customer service, he will be a tremendous asset to our team in delivering exceptional support to our members.”

Before joining AMLA, he worked with Serra Toyota of Decatur and Hyundai of Huntsville in their Parts Department. He resides in Madison with his wife, Kimberly, and they have two daughters, Chloe and Kadyn.

Dalberto replaces Jerry Yarbrough who recently announced his retirement after 17 years of service to the North Alabama tourism industry. Yarbrough’s last official day with AMLA was October 2, 2024.

After unexpectantly losing her husband of 29 years, Karen returned to the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association (AMLA) in 2023 as the vice president of marketing and communications where she helps guide the organization’s marketing and communications activities to position the North Alabama region as a must-experience destination for leisure travel. She has over 30 years of marketing experience, most recently working as a behind-the-scenes freelance public relations consultant for AMLA and other tourism organizations and festivals in north Alabama and Tennessee. From 1999 to 2004, AMLA employed her as the organization’s marketing representative, introducing her to a lifelong career in the tourism and travel industry. Following the birth of her second child, she transitioned to part-time freelance employment so that she could focus on family life.

 

She was named the Alabama Restaurant & Hospitality Association Tourism Promoter of the Year in 2025. She serves on the board of directors for the Huntsville/Madison County Hospitality Association, is a member of the Decatur/Morgan County Hospitality Association and the Tennessee Valley Chapter of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and volunteers with the Woody Williams Foundation and Vets Like Us.

 

She holds a B.S. degree in marketing and a MBA from the University of North Alabama and received her TMP – Travel Marketing Professional – certification from the Southeast Tourism Society Marketing College. She and her late husband, Michael, have two children, Keller and Logan.
