Water Parks in North Alabama

Water parks are amazing, am I right? The twisty water slides or the speed slides that send you rushing down are exhilarating! And if speed isn't your thing, you can sit by the pool or relax in the lazy river. Whatever you enjoy, you'll find it at the exciting water parks in north Alabama. Point Mallard Water Park

Point Mallard is home to America’s first wave pool and has been a favorite summertime destination for generations of families visiting Decatur. Spend the day making a splash in the giant wave pool, racing down thrilling water slides or floating your cares away in the lazy river. Younger visitors can enjoy kid-friendly play areas, while shaded spots and concessions make it easy to relax between adventures. Located inside scenic Point Mallard Park, the water park is the perfect place to cool off during a North Alabama summer.

Red Bay Water Park

Cool off at the Red Bay Water Park for the summer! There are three pools, two big water slides, and an interactive splash pad area for kids under 48 inches tall. There's also a playground and walking trail.

WinSouth Water Park at Sand Mountain Park

The WinSouth Water Park in Sand Mountain Park in Albertville is amazing! There are two 25' waterslides, splash pad with 48 spray elements, 3-lane lap pool, interactive stream feature, sports/leisure pool with volleyball net and basketball hoop, 600' lazy river with waterfall feature, vortex pool, shade features, sun bathing chairs, and poolside concessions.

Spring Valley Beach Water Park

Spring Valley Beach in Blountsville is so much fun! The water park has numerous water slides, a kiddie area, and a huge pool. It's also home to the 360 Rush, which is super fun if you're into adrenaline-pumping rides! You can bring food into Spring Valley Beach, and they have pavilions for rent with grills.

WildWater

WildWater is a new water park in Cullman! It features a 22,000 sq.ft. wave pool, 10 thrill rides, a kid's area with 8 slides, a drift river, and the best in food and beverage options. Enjoy a meal from Oasis Bistro for lunch, grab a quick snack at The Gully, and then finish the day with a frozen treat from Iceberg.

A 1995 Auburn University graduate, Melea has been a social media manager in the tourism industry since 2010 at Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association. At AMLA, Melea is responsible for creating content on Visit North Alabama’s social media platforms, writing blog posts on the website, coordinating the North Alabama Ambassador Program, and speaking at various events and meetings about social media. Melea is also the host of Unexpected Adventures in North Alabama, AMLA’s new podcast, produced by Relic Agency. The podcast won a 2022 Muse Award - Silver in the Audio/Podcast category. Melea was honored in October 2023 with the Tourism Promoter of the Year Award from the Alabama Restaurant & Hospitality Association for her work on the podcast.

Prior to working for AMLA, Melea received her Masters at UNA in Secondary Education and taught middle school English and coached middle school cheerleaders for three years. She also taught English at Calhoun Community College for 8 1/2 half years. Before that she worked in public relations for an advertising agency in Atlanta, a minor league baseball team in Columbus, Georgia, and for Auburn University in the development office. In 2020, Melea created her very own social media marketing agency called M and M Social. She loves to write, travel, walk in the park (she walked over 600 miles in 2020), go to Auburn games, and read books about WWII.
