University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH), Alabama A&M University, and Oakwood College are located in Huntsville, Alabama. They developed, among others, the Redstone rocket, which was modified to launch the first two Americans into space. Families can visit the world-famous U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville and learn about the history of space travel while attending graduation. Wallace State University is located in Hanceville, Alabama. Hanceville is near one of the most beautiful lakes in Alabama, one of the largest cathedrals in Alabama, and one of the most unique attractions in Alabama. Rich in German heritage, Cullman County has a variety of exciting attractions for out-of-town families to enjoy.
