Visiting UAH, Alabama A&M, or Oakwood College

University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH), Alabama A&M University, and Oakwood College are located in Huntsville, Alabama. Huntsville is a fantastic city with the best of both worlds: a bustling urban atmosphere and beautiful outdoor locations to explore nature.  Huntsville and Madison County were once one of the largest cotton-producing locations in the state, this changed when a group of German rocket scientists, led by Wernher von Braun, came to Redstone Arsenal in 1950. They developed, among others, the Redstone rocket, which was modified to launch the first two Americans into space. Families can visit the world-famous U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville and learn about the history of space travel while attending graduation. Huntsville is also home to the arts, shopping, and lots of craft breweries.
