DIAMOND RIO TO HEADLINE ALBERTVILLE’S MAIN STREET MUSIC FESTIVAL
Decatur, Ala. – Award winning and multi-platinum selling act Diamond Rio is one of ten entertainers performing at this year’s Main Street Music Festival, Albertville’s downtown street party. Set for August 5-6, 2011, the annual festival features children’s activities, a free movie, and arts and crafts along with a variety of music on two stages.
Gates open on Friday at 5 p.m. with the Albertville Idol competition kicking off the two day event at 6 p.m. on the Broad Street stage. Movie Under the Stars with a showing of Soul Surfer, the true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, follows the competition at 8 p.m.
Music will be non-stop on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. with a lineup featuring LifePoint Praise Band, Brittany Harbison, Summit UMC Praise Band, Wild Tangent, N1 Achord, Country Case, and Rodney Noffsinger. On the Main Street Stage, the winner of Albertville Idol will take to the stage at 6 p.m. followed by Jimmy Wayne at 6:30 p.m. and headliner Diamond Rio will have everyone dancing beginning at 8 p.m.
Arts and crafts and food vendors will be available on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and a Classic Car Cruise-in will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Albertville. Other activities include a 5k and fun run, children’s inflatables, and a magic show. Admission is free.
